Ok, I'll answer you Australia question. Australia was used as a penal colony by the British during the imperial days.
Australia used England's flag.

The colors stem from the British Navy- the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Bermuda also get their colors from them- see this post...

Wow! Impressed at the number of flags you have done! Any chance of a Norwegian flag before you stop making flags? The design should be ridiculously easy compared to some other flags.

Yeah Australia is still under the commonwealth which means we still have a queen. But she has nothing to do with the country what so ever. The british part in our flag is the Union Jack. More britmania from 200 years ago.

The Union Jack is in Australian flag because their original national flasg was the Union Jack. This stems from when Captain Cook first discovered Australia and some of the first colonies to settle there were British. Then in 1900, the Australia government held a competition to design a national flag of their own, with the rule by the judges that it had to contain the British ensign....which Queen Elizabeth endorsed. So they still have links with the British Monarchy.

Excellent work by the way.....any plans for the Union Jack screensaver?

What about a german flag? Third biggest economy in the world, more than 80 million citizens...

And I would be even more pleased to find the flag of the European Union here. It looks good...

Thanks for listening.

You will find a union jack on many countries of the commonwealth's flags. It basically just represents heritage.

All these flags really look great. Do you think you could share some of your secrets on how to create these flags? I am interested in making one for my organization (we have an emblem that could benefit from this).

Thanks.

The Union Jack appears in other people's flags because we used to rule 'everything'. Now we're just a bit crap ;)

Anyway, chance of the cross of St George? Its the English flag :)

its pretty straightforward: http://www.euroflag.com/images/products/englandcarsmall.gif

These things have already been said, but:

When is the next batch due? I check your site every day for them!

Are you going to do a European Union flag? Obviously that would please a lot of people. It would be especially popular at the moment because of the new countries that have just joined!

I too have trouble when more than one of these is installed. One of them takes over the others for some reason. It seems to be okay after a restart, but at the moment all four of my installed flags are "Old Italy".

Thanks Adam!

These look really cool! Great job. I know you must get heaps of requests but could you do a New Zealand one? Its the same as the Australian Flag except the stars have red borders and there's only 4 of them.
