MacThemes.net - Updated Design

MacThemes.net - Updated Design
Jan and I've made several adjustment to the design and it should address some of the biggest complaints such as IE compatibility, navbar with current page status (note the blue pin underneath Themes), and several others.

I added a corkboard and darker blue grid to improve the contrast of the design. You can feel free to play with the pins but just be careful with them. You know, they could kill baby kittens :(

The site will hopefully be ready by tonight.

A note on the search box: Why does it have rounded corners when the other boxes have square ones?

You should also make the box be the same width as the column below it, making the search symbol drop in the margin by 50% :) That would make it look so much better, IMHO.

Also, the shadows on the pins go in different directions.

It's good to nitpick when you have such a great design to pick on. Both design and code! Keep up the excellent work!

Andy,

Yeah, damnit! There was like over hundreds of spams before we installed MT-Blacklist. Some of them are quite funny though :)

Erik,

Why does it have rounded corners when the other boxes have square ones?

I changed it to round corner because I think previous square one isn't pretty. But now I think about it, a square one with new header style could be nice. I'll play around with it today.

I'm not sure what you mean about dropping the margin by 50%. Do you mean that circle with magnify could be put inside the box?

Also, the shadows on the pins go in different directions.

Actually global lighting is set at 90 degree, it's just that some of the objects are rotated a little. But you may be right, it probably doesn't look right. I'll play with that too :)

I mean that the actual box should be the same width as the one below. The icon should also be moved, so that it is placed in the same way.

Uhm. I guess this mockup shows it better:

Erik, they're both fixed now :)

Let me know if there's any other minor annoyances. I want to get rid of em all!

Excellent. Looks so much better. The paper clips could be more 3dish of sort to avoid making them look drawn onto the background. Perhaps some more gloss?
