nice icons, thanks!
Wow those are great. Thanks for the amazing work on the Icons! I was wishing for a Flex Builder Icon after replacing the CS3 suite with your icons. Now you’ve made all my dreams come true..well at least that one.
Hmmm…any chance of some Freehand replacements?
Love the work though!
I appreciate your excellent work. Thank you.
What’s the story with the Apollo icon? It’s out of sync with all the others you have created and looks like it’s from a totally different set… Even more so than Adobe’s own out-of-sync Apollo (and Acrobat, Flash Video, etc.) icon, which at least looks like part of the same set because of the same backgrounds used. Your Apollo has an out-of-sync icon AND an out-of-sync background block…
Sue, Apollo icon is identical to Acrobat icon but with different logo. How are they any different?
I hadn’t noticed that one before, having only checked out the “major” package’s icons, like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
I also see now that you’ve done the same thing with the other “symbol icons”.
But, my earlier comments still stand though, they just now apply to the Acrobat icon too, and the rest of your symbol icons.
Put all Adobe’s icons together, and they at least all look they’re part of the same set, whether they’re symbol icons or two-letter icons, because they all at least have the same backgrounds tying them together. Put your Acrobat and Apollo icons next to the rest you’ve done, and they look like they belong together as much as chalk and cheese do.
Acrobat has some interesting packaging too. Why not use this?

And as for the rest of the background-less icons, well, they must come in some form of packaging, right? Or belong to some other “parent” application (and therefore their packaging), like Flash Video Encoder belonging to the Flash family. Why does Flash get the background treatment but the Flash Video Encoder doesn’t?
What’s the theory behind doing some with product packaging themes and some not? If they can’t all adopt the same basic underlying theme, or if the reason they can’t all adopt the same basic underlying theme is because they would then look too similar and indistinguishable, then maybe you shot yourself in the foot by going with the product packaging in the first place?
Don’t get me wrong, these are good looking icons, I just think you’ve missed it when it comes to getting them to look they all belong to same family.
Exelent!
I think this is the most extensive pack of Adobe Icons ever
and the most elegant one too =)
The Cherry on the Cake now, would be a set of matching application Folders..
I can`t install or don`t know how to install the icon package. Please reply to my mail
Yeah, is there an easy way to replace all of the icons with this set other than doing it manually?
Hi,
I copied and pasted the new icons (beautiful!) into the info window for the applications. However, I get a black box around the icon. Is thee any way to avoid this?
Adam,
Any chance of getting the full set as PNGs? I got some from the contest site, but would love to see Flex Builder and Apollo pings.
Thanks for the super work!
Bob
Great article. There’s lots great info here, although Used to want to allow you something – I’m running Operating system X using circulating beta associated with Chrome, and the design of blog is kind associated with strange for me. I read the actual articles, however navigation doesn’t work so good.
