Yes, that’s right, 9.3%.
Google Earth (Current icon preview) is an amazing software but there’s no question that its icon and interface are ugly. I’m going to make google earth’s interface beautiful (well that’s impossible) semi-ugly. There are some improved graphics for interface but I have no plan of doing them all. Not worth my effort unless I’m getting paid for it. Enjoy what I have for now.
Some more previews of what’s changed: Toolbar Icons, Placemark, Sidebar and Overview Map

OOOh… pretty icons!
Now Google has to buy them…
By the way, these + Uno = awesomely better than the default.
Not sure about the blue drop down menu header thingys, but apart from that, lovely jubbly, thanks!
Beautiful.
Joe, that’s the only working alternative I can find. I’ve tried regular aqua but bar is too tall for that. It made aqua look cheap.
If I can think of something better, I’ll update the post/file with new one.
Really great icons thanks!
Good job! Downloading……
Wow, great stuff Adam =D
Very good. Thank you.
It seems that panel-pl.png and panel-md.png are inverted.
Booloo
Nice job done!!
I enjoy your skills and watching your work. However, I have a few comments on your design considerations here:
• Using the blue color that signals “selected” is not such a good choice. I know Apple use it for Spotlight, but that’s also wrong, wrong, wrong…
• The old ruler is simpler and more easily recognized for a ruler. I know you are probably looking for consistency with other Apple applications. But I suggest you use your intuition when weighing between what is more easily recognized and what is common.
• The Placemark: is it possible to see the tip of the nail to allow for a more precise location?
Still: well done!
Spiffy.
Of course, to really take the suck out of GE’s interface, they’d need to drop Qt and implement the UI with real Mac controls (Cocoa would be nice, but it could be done in Carbon too). Shame that probably won’t happen anytime soon. Nice job cleaning up what’s possible to in the UI, though.Â
IMHO, the 3D perspective style for the default placemark icon doesn’t really work well… sure, it looks right when you see it static, but as the globe moves around it starts to look wrong that the perspective on the pushpin isn’t changing too. Sticking to a design that’s more clearly 2D might be better.
Love the icon and new GUI!! Great work. As soon as I downloaded it I ran a search hoping someone had fixed the visual appeal of the program. Thanks so much!
how about update for Leopard?
I can’t understand why google don’t use the standard mac interface. And why dont they build it in cocoa? Im looking forward to the day when it comes in cocoa.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I downloaded the file (twice) and Vista’s built in zip AND Winzip both complained about the filenames not being right. Am I missing something?
Paul, I have the same issue. Have you figured it out?
Well the problem is that windows cant handle directory names with brackets ( “>” ) in it and thats why its not possible to extract them. But if you go into “\Google Earth Icon:Interface Replacement\Drag Graphics to Content>Resources” folder and extract the files in there without it extracting with paths, then you can get the icons. Also note that the icon sets are in icns format, so you will need a converter (ex. gconverter, ahaview). Also i was wondering where to find the large placemarker icon as its not in the zip file.
Just want to know if this project is stilling going on?
